Earth has been destroyed (presumably by humanity), but there's an alien spaceship on which three aliens are beaming artifacts onboard to study. (They're paleontologists, I guess, hence the title.) There is some arguing between them (in their alien language) about various items, but their most important discoveries are a jukebox and some tap shoes. I have no idea how, but they all immediately become expert tap dancers, and dance along to the jazz music on the jukebox. It's weird, but cool. And certainly not the worst legacy humanity could have left behind.
