shows tek wishes to see

Okay, the idea of this page is basically, these are some shows I either never got a chance to see, or haven't seen much of (or don't watch for some reason, if they're current). So basically I can't tell you much of anything about them, I'm afraid. But hopefully someday I'll see them and move them to other pages.

Let's begin...

About a Girl, The N
IMDb; The N; TV.com; Wikipedia

I kind of want to check this out because it stars Chiara Zanni, of whose voice acting I am a fan, so it'd be cool to see her in a live-action show for a change. Though I'm not sure if I'd like the show or not... yeah, like I said, I wanna at least check it out sometime....

The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers
IMDb; official website; Retro Junk; Toonarific; TV.com; Wikipedia

I found this while searching Retro Junk, and it strikes me as something I might conceivably have seen when it was first on. I don't really remember. It's also quite possible I've never seen or even heard of it before. Either way, I wouldn't mind checking it out sometime.

Alias, ABC
IMDb

When it started I watched the first episode, maybe the first two or three. But then I stopped because it was opposite X-Files. But I'd really like to see this, I just wanna be able to watch it from the beginning. It's about this woman named Sydney Bristow (who we really like), who's like in college I guess, but she's also a spy. Then she finds out the group she was working for is actually a rogue organization, not really a part of the CIA as she thought. So she becomes a double agent to gather information against them, while still working for them. And of course, it gets more complicated than that, but as I say I really haven't seen much of it. I expect I shall, someday.

Alien Nation
IMDb; Retro Junk

Never got a chance to see this series. Maybe the tiniest bit during some marathon on Sci-Fi Channel sometimes, I dunno. Anyway, there've been tons of TV movies based on this (and maybe one that came before the series), but I haven't seen any of them and I'm not gonna list them all, so if you're interested you can just look up "alien nation" in the IMDb search and get a list of them to check out for yourself. Anyway, I can't tell you anything about the series, but I know it's good and I'd really love to see it sometime in the proper order, and then all the TV movies, too...

The Avengers, British
BBC America; IMDb

I haven't had the opportunity to see much of it; only if there's a free preview weekend which includes the Mystery channel, or something. But still, it is great and it is a classic. Anyway, there was this spy named John Steed. He was cool. He had various partners, and I'm sure that's all well and good, but everybody knows that the real Avengers are John Steed and Emma Peel. Oh, we like Mrs. Peel, oh yes indeed. Quite. Um, but anyway, as I say I haven't seen it much, so there's not much I can really tell you. Odd little series, at times. Occasionally, I might almost say, it borders on the fantastic.
Oh, and while the real Steed and Peel were Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg, there was not so long ago a movie in which they were played by Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman. It wasn't great, but I kinda liked it.

Battlestar Galactica
IMDb; Retro Junk; Sci-Fi Channel; TV.com; Wikipedia

I think I've seen a very little bit of this on Sci-Fi Channel before, and wasn't overly impressed, but I still wouldn't mind a chance to give it a proper try from the beginning. I also think I read a novelization of the pilot movie once, or something. So anyway, somewhere out in space are like twelve human colony worlds named after signs of the Zodiac, and Earth is only a legend. Then some human betrays his people to the evil Cylons because they promised him power, and the Cylons invade the colonies and destroy most of them, so this ship full of refugees set out to find Earth. That's pretty much all I know. I have, however, been watching the new, updated version (see sci-fi 4).

Bionic Six
IMDb; Retro Junk; Toonarific; TV.com; Wikipedia

I think I saw a very little bit of this, but I don't really remember it that well. The only name I even remember at all is Dr. Scarab. Anyway, I'd like to see it again sometime, and decide whether it interests me or not.

The Bionic Woman
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

A spin-off of The Six Million Dollar Man. Jaime Sommers... had bionic parts, so, was... fast and strong and stuff, I guess. I dunno, I never really saw this that I recall, but I suppose it might be nice to check it out sometime.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
IMDb; Retro Junk; Sci-Fi Channel

I never saw much of this, that I recall. I guess it was on when I was a little kid, and I might've seen it back then, but I don't quite remember. And I think I saw a few eps on tape several years ago. Whatever, I kinda wish I could see the show in proper order, from the beginning. But I don't care too much, really. I think the only thing I really remember about the show is Twiki, who scared me. Seriously. Anyway, Buck was this astronaut from the 20th century I guess who um, like disappeared or something and suddenly woke up in the 25th century. And then he and his new pals had adventures and stuff. I dunno.

Charmed, WB
IMDb; Retro Junk; TWoP

Another show that's still on, but I never started watching when it was first out. And now I'm too far behind to bother trying to catch up. Anyway, it's about these three sisters who are witches (good witches, of course), though in one of the seasons one of the characters was replaced by someone else. I dunno. They're all quite attractive and stuff, but I'm not too interested. I kind of think maybe I haven't given it a good chance because I expect it's too much about eye candy, but there could be some good stories too, I dunno. It reruns on like TNT I guess, maybe some other channels too. I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm torn on the issue of whether or not to ever try to get into it, but I thought I'd just mention it, on behalf of the side of me that thinks I should give it a chance. Someday. Maybe.

Danger Man, British
IMDb

I don't really know anything about this except that one might call it a prequel series to "The Prisoner," which is certainly among the best series ever. So I'd really love to see this show. It started in 1960, but was apparently revived in 1964... the IMDb entry for it has the same title as this one, but you'd probably hear it refered to as Secret Agent (IMDb). I wish I knew something else to tell you.

Dead at 21, MTV
IMDb; TV.com; Wikipedia

This is something I recall wanting to see when it was first on, but I didn't have MTV, so... I couldn't. And now I don't know anything to say about it. But it'd be cool if I got a chance to see it sometime.

Di-Gata Defenders (cartoon)
4Kids TV; IMDb; official website; TELETOON; Wikipedia

I happened across a page for this while looking at a list of some of Nelvana's shows. I dunno, it looks like something I'd like to check out sometime. Maybe I'd like it.

The Fugitive
IMDb

A series from the 60's which I've never seen any of, but I hear good things, you know? So I'd like to check it out someday if I get a chance. This guy Dr. Richard Kimble was like wrongly convicted of murder and on the run from the law and trying to find this one-armed man who really did it, I guess. I dunno. There was also a movie in the 90's based on this show, but I haven't seen it. And a remake of the series in 2000, which I never watched. But I'll say this, my statistics teacher in college was named Dr. Richard Kimball.

The Greatest American Hero
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I very vaguely recall seeing a bit of this when I was quite young. Aliens gave a costume to some guy, which gave him superpowers, but he didn't know how to control them. I'd definitely like to see this again sometime. And it's on DVD now, so, I should have a chance someday... if I ever have any money....

The Green Hornet
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I don't really know much of anything about this show, but I wouldn't mind checking it out someday if possible.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker
IMDb; Retro Junk

Don't really know anything about this except that I've read in various places that X-Files was influenced by it, so I think it's worth checking out, but I have a feeling I wouldn't like it that much. I could very well be wrong about that, though.

Kung Fu
IMDb; In2TV; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I don't know much of anything about this, except that it's about this kung fu Shaolin monk type guy named Kwai Chang Caine. And I've long wanted to see the series. I think I watched a very little bit of a spin-off series called Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. Like maybe just the first episode, or something....

Land of the Giants
IMDb; TV.com; Wikipedia

I don't really know anything about this show, though I did once read an article about the show, or rather one of its stars, Deanna Lund. Um, I guess I might like to check out the show someday. You know, cuz the girls are hot. Hopefully the show itself would be entertaining, as well...

The Legend of Calamity Jane
IMDb; Retro Junk; Toonarific; TV.com; Voice Chasers

I don't really know anything about this cartoon. It was on sometime before I got the WB, so I never had a chance to see it. I don't recall having heard of it until recently, but I may have. Anyway, I'd definitely like to check it out sometime.

Life Goes On, ABC
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I think I wanted to see this when it was on, but I didn't get ABC, so... I didn't see it. Mostly. I think I might've seen an episode once, or even a few episodes. I don't really remember. But, we do like Kellie Martin, so... it'd be nice to maybe check the series out someday, if I get a chance. I guess.

M.A.N.T.I.S., FOX
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I think I saw a very little bit of this. There was a crippled dude who had this sort of exoskeleton suit that not only let him walk, it gave him super strength and stuff. I dunno. I'd like to see the whole series sometime....

Mission Genesis, Sci-Fi Channel
IMDb

I didn't see alot of this. I guess I didn't get the Sci-Fi Channel when this was on. Anyway, it didn't last long. I dunno how long. I think I saw the first episode, anyway. These teenagers were revived from stasis prematurely, in the future, and had to figure out what was going on, and stuff. They were like on a spaceship or something, and the human race was gone except for them I think. They had flashes of memories from the past, cuz like I think they were clones of people who had lived before, or something. I don't remember any more about it. Had a couple people in the cast who'd later be in some other, better projects, though.

Nightmare Cafe, NBC
IMDb

There were maybe 6 episodes of this, and I only ever had the chance to see the first one. I liked it alot. I dunno what to say. It was weird, okay? There was this guy played by Robert Englund who ran this weird place and two people, a man and woman, ended up working there for him, and um, people would come in and um... I have no idea what to tell you, it was just weird. Anyway, um... we like Lindsay Frost.... And um... I really wish I could see the rest of the episodes....

One Day at a Time
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I'm sure I watched this as a kid, but the only character I really remember is Schneider. I thought he was funny, or whatever. But I'd like to watch the show sometime so I can get a feel for what it's actually about, and some of the other characters... I like the actors, anyway....

Punky Brewster
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

Never had a chance to see any of this, I'm afraid. I think I must've heard of it when I was younger and wanted to see it. Or maybe it wasn't until later that I heard of it. I dunno. Whatever. Um... can't think of anything to say....

Radio Free Roscoe
IMDb; official website; The N; TV.com; Wikipedia

Dunno what to say. But I'd like to check it out someday maybe.

Robin of Sherwood, British
IMDb

I didn't see much of this. Would certainly be nice to see the whole series someday... It's a fairly good version of Robin Hood, anyway. Seemed to have some Druidic stuff mixed in, or something. Don't know what else to say.

SeaQuest DSV
IMDb; Retro Junk

This was about a submarine in the not too distant future. I hardly got to see any of it, I forget what channel it was on, but I didn't get it at the time. Anyway, the show was later renamed "SeaQuest 2032," after everyone got like mysteriously sent into the future, or something. I probably only ever had a chance to see like one episode, and I don't really remember it. But I'd really like to see the whole series someday.

SilverHawks
IMDb; Retro Junk; Toonarific; TV.com; Wikipedia

When I was a kid, I had a bunch of the action figures from this show, and I thought they were sooo cool, even though I never had a chance to see the cartoon. I don't have them any more. I guess I must've sold them at flea markets or something. Dammit. Ah well, anyway, I think at some point I actually did manage to see a few episodes, though I don't really remember them. But I'd really love to see the whole series sometime. And to get my damn toys back!

The Six Million Dollar Man
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

Steve Austin was this dude who got bionic parts put in him, right? So like... he's strong and fast and stuff. I dunno. I think I musta seen a bit of this a long time ago when I was very young, but I don't properly remember it. So I guess I'd like to see it again sometime, maybe. It also had a spin-off, The Bionic Woman.

Soap, ABC
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

I don't really know anything about this except that it was a parody of soap operas, and it had a bunch of actors I like from other stuff, and Benson was a spin-off. And I'd really like to check it out sometime, from the beginning.

Space: 1999
IMDb; Retro Junk

Never seen any of this, but my uncle used to have a model of the spaceship, which I quite liked. Don't know what else to say, but of course I'd like to check out the show someday if I could.

TekWar
IMDb; Retro Junk

Bill Shatner wrote (or co-wrote) a series of "Tek" novels which I've always meant to get around to reading someday, but so far never have. However, Marvel put out a comic book for a couple years called "Tek World," which I collected. In fact I do believe it was the first title I collected regularly, which got me looking at comix, whether in book stores or supermarkets or the local comic shop, Mementos (which closed several years ago, and I greatly miss the place). Anyway, after that I got more into DC comix... but I digress. There was also this TV series based on the books, and I can't recall whether I ever saw any of it. Couldn't have seen much, anyway. But I guess I'd like to have a chance to check it out sometime. Also when I looked up "tekwar" on IMDb, it listed a few TV movies, I guess, so you can look for those entries yourself, if you're interested. Anyway... at this point I don't even really remember the comic book very well, but I know I liked it. It's the future, there's a cop, there's some kind of VR drug or something called "tek." And I don't know what else to say.... I really should pick up those novels someday....

Time Trax
IMDb; Retro Junk

I didn't see this when it was first on, but I think it reran on Sci-Fi for awhile, and I saw a bit of that. It was kinda interesting, I guess. Some cop from the future had to go back to our own time to chase escaped criminals from his time. He had this holographic computer A.I. kinda deal that looked like a credit card, the device itself I mean. The holographic A.I., at least I think it was an A.I. or something, I forget, but it looked like a woman, and we kinda liked her. Anyway... I'd like to maybe see the whole show sometime. It didn't last long.

Twin Peaks
IMDb; Retro Junk

I never got the chance to see any of this. I would read that it was all weird and hard to follow and whatnot, and that sounds intriguing to me. So I want to see it, okay? But I don't know anything about it. ...Oh, and if I ever get to see the series, after that I suppose i'd like to see the prequel movie Fire Walk with Me (IMDb), though I hear it wasn't very good.

V
IMDb; In2TV; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

This was a sequel to a miniseries. I think I must've seen this when I was very young, but I don't remember it well. Someday I definitely want to check out both the miniseries, and the series, and uh, I think there was also a TV movie....

War of the Worlds
IMDb

I was vaguely aware of this series when it was on, but didn't have a chance to see it. I dunno anything about it really, or if it was any good, but I wouldn't mind a chance to check it out sometime.

Wizards and Warriors
IMDb

I'm pretty sure I watched at least some of this when I was a kid. I don't hardly remember anything other than the title, but I remember liking it. I really want to see this again someday. Really.

Wonder Woman
DVD site; IMDb; In2TV; Retro Junk; TV.com; Wikipedia

Don't know what to say except of course it's based on the comic book character, and it starred Lynda Carter (who we quite like). I reckon I'll definitely have to get the DVDs someday.

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
IMDb; Retro Junk

Okay, I didn't see much of this, and don't remember it well, but it was good. Oh, and after you click that link for the IMDb entry, also try searching there for just "young indiana jones" to find a whole list of other TV movies in the series. I tend to think of it all as the same thing, anyway. Well, I don't know what else to say about any of it. It's all sort of prequels to the theatrical Indiana Jones movies. The title is rather self-evident, though, isn't it?
