So... Monty Python was this British comedy troupe, perhaps the greatest comedy troupe ever, including Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. And "Monty Python's Flying Circus" was sort of a sketch comedy show, but it was one of the most insane, surreal, redonkulous, utterly unpredictable shows ever. Sometimes sketches would just like, end, with little or no segue (and when there were segues, they tended to make no sense). Sketches might just stop, or they might bleed into each other, like some kind of fever dreams. Some sketches perhaps did actually keep going until arriving at some kind of proper end. Um, I haven't actually seen a lot of the show, and most of what I have seen, I don't really remember. I think it's safe to say that while the series as a whole (and the troupe that created it) was brilliant, a great deal of the actual content was... less so. But when it was good, it was an unparalleled level of good. And hell, even when it was bad, it was still sort of entertaining for the sheer "what the fuck?"ness of it all.

The show would later spawn several movies. The first is "And Now For Something Completely Different," which I haven't seen and probably never will. (It features sketches from the series, so I don't see the point.) The second is Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which is pretty great. After that, there are a few others, I guess. I've seen "Life of Brian" and/or "The Meaning of Life" before, and I'd probably like to see them both again someday, to write reviews, but I'm sure I don't care about them as much as "Holy Grail."
