Let's begin...

The Andy Milonakis Show, MTV2
IMDb; MTV2; TV.com; Wikipedia

Andy Milonakis is in his 30s, but he looks like a kid. The thing is, his humor is funnier if it's being done by some amateur kid with no talent, but a highly developed sense of irony. So I reckon it's cool that he turns his condition to his advantage, and it's lucky that when watching his show, it's easy to forget that he's not a kid. Anyway, his sketch comedy is all very unprofessional, rough, crappy, and stupid. And hilarious to the point that if you're not careful, you might just hurt yourself laughing. But... I generally can't watch more than a few minutes at a time, and usually don't even watch the show at all. It's just too much concentrated insanity for me to handle. And I have always prided myself on my insanity, so that's saying something. But then again, maybe it's easier for a certain breed of sane person to appreciate than it is for me, I dunno. But most sane people will probably just think it completely sucks, anyway.

What else? Andy, as a character, is just crazy and weird and stupid, and he has a crazy-weird-stupid friend named Ralphie, and maybe there's some other weird people. And the sketches are weird and I think some of the people on the street must be acting otherwise someone probably would've killed Andy a long time ago. But I could be mistaken. And um Andy and/or Ralphie sometimes do some mad rapping, and by "mad" I obviously mean insane and stupid and weird. And that's all I can think to say because like I said I don't watch it much but it's insane and hilarious and stupid.

Beat the Geeks, Comedy Central
IMDb; TV Tome

Cool quiz show. Hmmm, what to say? There are 3 regular geeks on the show, the TV geek, the movie geek, and the music geek. Plus each episode has a guest geek with some special field of interest. And there's a host who doesn't do much except read questions and try to be funny I guess. And you get three contestants on each episode, which is soon whittled down to two. Then they have to challenge the geeks in trivia, and finally it gets down to one contestant who must face the geek of his or her choice in a final showdown. Oh yeah, there's also a girl named Tiffany I guess. In the second season there was a new host who I just found annoying.

Carol & Company
IMDb; TV Tome

Sketch comedy show. I liked it, it could be funny sometimes. I liked the actors, many of whom I would see later in other things. Of course the star was Carol Burnett. I never saw her old show.

Figure it Out, Nickelodeon
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

Reruns on Nick GaS.
I didn't see too much of this. It was a game show for kids, sort of. A kid would come on who did something special, or whatever, and four panelists from various Nick shows or whatever would ask questions and try to guess what it was that the kid did. If they couldn't guess within the time limit, the kid won something. It was kind of ridiculous, but we liked the host, Summer Sanders. Who I later learned was an Olympic swimmer. Anyway....

Friday Night, NBC
IMDb; TV Tome

I guess my friend and I used to sometimes watch this after Conan O'Brien or whatever, back in like the mid-90's or whatever. Dunno what to say. They played music videos and you could vote on them or whatever. I reckon they did other stuff, too. I can't really remember it well. It wasn't great, but that time of night, it's surprising how easy it is to be entertained.

Good Rockin' Tonite, Canadian
no IMDb or TV Tome entries

This was hosted by Stu Jeffries. I didn't see much of it. He played music videos and stuff.

The Kids in the Hall, Canadian
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

Sketch comedy group brought to you by Lorne Michaels of SNL fame. This show was frequently stupid. Incredibly stupid. But it was also often pretty funny. Plus it had good music by Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet.

Mad TV, FOX, Saturdays 11pm
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

Reruns on Comedy Central.
Sketch comedy, sometimes funny. Also we like Nicole Sullivan. Not sure what else to say, except of course I guess it's based sort of vaguely on Mad magazine.

Mind of Mencia, Comedy Central, Sundays 10pm
Carlos Mencia; Comedy Central; IMDb; TV.com; Wikipedia

It's mainly a stand-up show featuring comedian Carlos Mencia. There are some taped segments, too, on-the-street type stuff. But mostly it's just about the comedy, and he's pretty funny. There's alot of racial and cultural jokes, he makes fun of pretty much everyone, especially his own race, it seems. Usually I don't like that kinda stuff, but it's okay, the way he does it all, it doesn't really seem offensive to me. And he makes, I think, alot of good points about various things. You know, I don't agree with everything, but alot of it. And it's all funny, that's what's important, I guess....

Monty Python's Flying Circus, British
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

Reruns on BBC America.
I haven't really seen too much of it. And what I have seen I don't always like that much. But still, this is about the best comedy ensemble of all times, and can sometimes be quite brilliant and hilarious and totally inspired insanity. Of course several movies have been made by these folks, and you certainly have to see them. No one mocks life like Monty Python. Absolutely classic stuff and frightfully important. And that's about all I have to say.

120 Minutes, MTV
IMDb; TV.com; Wikipedia

What to say? This was a late night show on MTV and later MTV2, which played alot of cool music videos you wouldn't likely see elsewhere or elsewhen. The first host I remember was Matt Pinfield, but I must've seen a few other hosts over the years. Though of course it started long before I had a chance to watch, and had other hosts before my time. And, uh, I never watched as regularly as I would've liked, partly because it was on late, or there was other stuff I wanted to watch, but largely because it seemed to be scheduled pretty erratically, by the last few years. But anyway, it was cool.

The Price Is Right, CBS
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

I suppose I used to watch this fairly often, though hardly at all, nowadays. It's a very popular game show, so I'll assume you've seen it. So I probably don't need to say anything about it. I dunno what to say, anyway. Um... Holly was my favorite Barker's Beauty. All the ones who used to be on the show when I watched it are gone now. I don't care about any of the new ones or know their names or anything.

Royal Canadian Air Farce, Canadian
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

A funny sketch comedy/mock news show. Second best way to learn about Canadian politics and stuff. I'm afraid I haven't watched it in quite awhile, though.

Saturday Night Live, NBC, Saturdays 11:30pm
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

Also reruns on E! (older seasons) and Comedy Central (newer seasons).
Anyway, um... I haven't seen much of the early stuff. I guess I came in when Dennis Miller was hosting Weekend Update. There've been so many cast changes since then. But there's usually some good folks on the show, and the show never entirely sucks, no matter what anyone may tell you. It's not always great. Sometimes it mostly sucks. But there's still always something worthwhile about it, and sometimes alot that's good. You just never know. Of course, I don't watch it much anymore, but sometimes I do. Anyway, this is a classic, and stuff. Dunno what else to say. Oh yeah. Sketch comedy, plus a musical guest and a guest host each week, as if you didn't know.

The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, CBS
IMDb; TV Tome

I enjoyed this a lot. I miss it. I want to see it again. What else to say? The Smothers brothers had a show in like the 60's or something, but I never saw that and know nothing about it. Then they got this one in like the late 80's I guess. They were funny. They had on plenty of guests, comedians and singers and whatnot, who I enjoyed. That's all. Oh yeah, and Tommy Smothers is the Yo-Yo Man.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Canadian
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

Mock-news show, very funny. The best way to learn about Canadian politics and stuff. But I'm afraid I haven't watched it in quite awhile.

Video Hits, Canadian
Wikipedia

Well, this was at one time the only source I had for watching music videos. It was a half hour on weekday afternoons. I liked it alot. The original host, that I ever saw, was Samantha Taylor (who we rather liked). Later there was a guy named Bryan Elliot, I believe. He was cool. I can't recall if there was a host between him and Sam. But after Bryan was Dan Gallagher, in fact the name changed to "Dan Gallagher's Video Hits." I don't think I liked him that well. Then after awhile the series disappeared. I miss it. But hey, I have other channels to watch now that play music videos all the time. Of course my favorite VJ's keep getting replaced, but there are always new ones I like, I guess. Though usually not as much as some of the ones who disappear... But this has nothing to do with the show, so I should shut up now.

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, PBS
IMDb; Retro Junk; TV Tome

A game show for kids, supposed to teach geography and stuff. It was based on a computer game. It was kinda interesting, I guess. Rockapella were cool.

Win Ben Stein's Money, Comedy Central
IMDb; TV Tome

Probably the coolest and funniest and most fun quiz show ever. Ben Stein's always been a fairly funny guy, in his own way. And the categories of questions were funny. It's had like 3 different cohosts, starting with Jimmy Kimmel, who was probably the funniest one. We kinda liked the second cohost, Nancy Pimental.
