Here I'd like to mention a few shows which I either don't remember very well or just don't really care about... But still want to make note of their existence for some reason. Which is odd, because there may be other shows I care about more than these, which never make it to this page or any other... Um, so, I dunno what to tell you. Except that I'm nuts...
Let's begin...
Coming to America
A pilot episode burned off in the summer, for a series that never got made. It was based on the movie of the same name, but it was really stupid. The main character was supposed to be the little brother of Eddie Murphy's character from the movie, who was sent to America with a friend of his named Omar. The only thing I remember was this American guy they stayed with telling the first guy the story of the grasshopper and the ant, and then the guy says, "The friendship is over unless Omar changes his grasshopperly ways," though of course he himself was the grasshopper. And that's all I really remember.
This was based on the movie of the same name. It was pretty stupid. Really the only reason I watched it was because Wendy Makkena was in it, and I had quite liked her in the movie "Sister Act." And in this... well, let's just say, she wasn't exactly playing a nun....
Live-In, CBS
All I could possibly tell you about it is that there was this family who hired a nanny from Australia. I don't really remember what she looked like, I just remember at the time thinking she was pretty damn cute and stuff.
Lush Life, FOX
Lori Petty was in this. We like her alot. She needs to be a bigger star than she is. Karyn Parsons was also in this, which I had forgotten. But we like her. I don't really remember anything about this show, but I don't think it was good. Shame Lori didn't find a better show to star in. But she's done stuff that was good, and surely will again....
The People Next Door, CBS
I remember just a few things about this show. I didn't even remember the title. I remembered that Jeffrey Jones was in it, so I looked him up on IMDb and found the show from his list of work. Another thing I remember is that this guy's imagination came to life. Finally, I remember that it was paired with Major Dad when that show first started, and I liked this one better, at the time. Then this got cancelled very quickly, and Major Dad went on for a few seasons, and in retrospect I realized it was better than this one, after all. But I still found this show pretty funny. At the time.
Shivers, CBS
A pilot episode burned off in the summer, for a series that never got made. It was a mildly amusing piece of tripe about a father and his two kids who moved into a house which was haunted by the ghosts of a highwayman and a prostitute. Oh, and the ghost of a young pigkeeper they fell on when the two of them fell out the window, back in Revolutionary times. It was lame, but I still kinda liked it, and I sometimes find myself saying a line from it, "Right, right, that tripe." Oh, and I think Charles Shaughnessy played the highwayman, but I'm not certain. Dunno what else to say.
