This was one of the most brilliantly written and acted sitcoms of all time. It has devoted fans who couldn't care less about sports (including me). It's about a fictional sports news show on fictional cable network CSC. But it was more about the people who worked on the show. Dan Rydell (Josh Charles) and Casey McCall (Peter Krause) were the anchors. Dana Whitaker (Felicity Huffman) was the executive producer. Natalie Hurley (Sabrina Lloyd) was senior associate producer. Jeremy Goodwin (Joshua Malina) was an associate producer (and pretty much the smartest guy in the universe). Isaac Jaffe (Robert Guillaume) was the managing editor. The show is just so brilliant and clever and hilarious and smart and brilliant and perfect and... stuff. Touching, moving, endearing... you care about these characters, and all the good and bad things that happen to them. You want to be friends with them. You wish you were as smart and witty as they. I can't recommend this show highly enough.

Um... I need to rewatch this someday on DVD or something, and hopefully write up a proper review. Meanwhile, I guess I can't think what else to say except to mention in one episode of Family Guy, a couple guys liked a psychotropic toad or something, and one said "I finally get Aaron Sorkin's Sports Night... it's a sitcom that's too good to be funny." The other said, "You're trippin!" I thought it was a funny exchange, even though I personally think Sports Night is both good and funny... hilarious, actually, more so than Family Guy usually is. But hey, to each their own... the shows are just funny in different ways. *shrug*
