tek's quite liked science fiction shows
(caution: potential spoilers)

Let's begin...

Andromeda, syndicated
IMDb; SadGeezers Guide; Save Andromeda (fansite(s)); Sci-Fi Channel; Tribune; TV.com; Wikipedia

It's about this ship, the Andromeda Ascendant, which was frozen in time on the event horizon of a black hole for 300 years, just at the start of a civil war in the intergalactic Systems Commonwealth. The only survivors on the ship were Captain Dylan Hunt and the ship's A.I., Andromeda. No time passed for them during those three centuries, until they were dragged out of the black hole by the crew of a cargo ship called the Eureka Maru. Finding the Commonwealth to have been gone for hundreds of years, Dylan sets out to restore it, with the help of the Maru's crew. If you're so inclined, you may read more about it here.

Crusade, TNT
IMDb; SadGeezers Guide; TV.com; Wikipedia

This was a spin-off of Babylon 5 (sci-fi 1). Not nearly as good as that show (how could it be?) but still decent. The network really screwed it up and finally cancelled it after one season. It needed more seasons to develop, and JMS should've been given greater creative control. Anyway, basically, after the Shadow War in B5, all the First Ones left the galaxy. But the Shadows had servants who stayed behind called the Drakh. We saw them a bit in B5, toward the end. Anyway, five years later, in the TV movie A Call to Arms (IMDb; Movie Tome; Wikipedia), the Drakh attacked the Earth with a Shadow Planet-Killer, but were foiled. So they dropped a plague on the planet which would kill everyone within 5 years. Thus, the series Crusade was about a ship, the Excalibur, hunting all around the galaxy trying to find a cure... perhaps some records of some lost civilization that might've known something.... Clearly, a cure was eventually found, for we've seen further into the future on both B5 itself and other related things.... But this series never got a chance to find the cure before it was cancelled. Maybe someday, though. One can but hope. By the way, we like Dureena. And I suppose I should say more about the series, and the characters. Maybe someday if I rewatch the series I'll do that. Might even move it up a tier.

Earth: Final Conflict, syndicated
IMDb; TV Tome

I don't even know what to say. It was good, nothing really wrong with it, but... I dunno. It was just such an effort, y'know? And it lasted 5 years, but it felt like way longer than that. Anyway, aliens called Taelons came to Earth and claimed to want to help humanity. But they had a hidden agenda. And there was an underground resistance against them, but most people liked the Taelons for most of the series. You can read my extended explanation of the show here, if you like.
