tek's liked, but not well-liked police/lawyer dramas

Let's begin...

Annabeth Chase (who we quite like) is a prosecutor returning to work after maternity leave. She has to pursue cases involving crimes committed by suburbanites who seem like decent, normal people, but who are really anything but. We see a bit of Annabeth's home life, with her husband Jack and their new baby; but mostly the show is about her work. Her new boss, Maureen Scofield, got a promotion Annabeth had been expecting to get herself before her leave. They both report to Steve Sharpe (I'm not actually sure if he's like the D.A. or what). In any event, we see much more of Annabeth working on discovery and building her cases, along with police investigators (mainly Detective Lou Drummer), than of her actually trying cases in court; though there's enough of that, too. Not really sure what else to say, except that the cases are usually fairly interesting, and tend to have twists....

Law & Order, NBC

I have rarely watched any of this, but whenever I did, I always thought it was a really good show. Good stories, good acting, all that. The first half of each episode is about the police detectives investigating crimes and catching suspects, the second half about the lawyers prosecuting those suspects. Fairly simple yet interesting concept, cop show and lawyer show rolled into one. There are of course also several spin-off series, but I haven't seen those ones at all. I expect they're good, too. Anyway, this show definitely deserves to be on a higher tier, except that I never watch it. And I feel kinda bad about that. Mostly because I... really would rather put this on a higher tier. But I can't. Dammit. But hey, I ain't losin' any sleep over it....
