I haven't seen too much of this, really. I tried watching it a few times because it's so popular, though. It can be rather dumb and annoying, but it also has some laughs, and some clever moments. It can certainly appeal to adults as well as kids, which is nice. But it just hasn't caught my interest that much. Anyway, there's a bunch of sea critters like the title character, a sea sponge in a state of arrested development; his best friend Patrick Star, a really really dumb starfish; Squidward Tentacles (who can't stand SpongeBob, though SpongeBob doesn't seem to realize this); and Mr. Eugene Krabs (SpongeBob and Squidward's boss at a burger joint called the Krusty Krab). And there's a squirrel (land critter) named Sandy Cheeks, who I think is from Texas or something, who moved underwater for some reason. She lives in a dome filled with air and when she goes out she wears a diving suit. Oh, and SpongeBob has a pet snail named Gary, who meows. Um... they all live in a town called Bikini Bottom. And then there's Sheldon J. Plankton, who's constantly trying to steal the formula for Mr. Krabs' Krabby Patty, to attract customers to his own restaurant, The Chum Bucket, as part of a scheme to take over the world, or something. But his plans always fail and he just ends up getting stepped on all the time. I dunno what else to say about the show. But it's not bad, in small doses.
