This is a page to collect any cover songs that represent a significant mood shift from the original (happy to sad, sad to happy, silly to serious, serious to silly, whatever). It was inspired by Chase Holfelder's cover of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," so that's where I'll start. (And apparently he's done other stuff like this, but this is the first time I ever heard of the guy.) I'm sure I've heard any number of such things long before this, but I've forgotten most of them. So if you can think of any, please let me know.
