Red Riding Hood
AllMusic; Amazon; Apple Music; Discogs; Spotify; WaterTower Music; Wikipedia

This is the soundtrack/score to the movie Red Riding Hood. It came out in 2011, and I got it in 2013. I'm reviewing it in 2024. It was composed by Brian Reitzell and Alex Heffes. Mostly the instrumental tracks sound very slightly like classical, and more heavily like electronica or dance music. Though some are more just classical.

1. "Towers of the Void":

2. "Kids":

3. "Dead Sister": This is the first track to really be dark, which is fitting considering the title.

4. "The Wolf", by Fever Ray: This is the first track with lyrics, more a chant than a song. But it's still mostly some darkish trance music, I'd say. It's the track I most associate with the movie, and the only one I find truly memorable. I even put it on my Halloween Spotify playlist.

5. "Mt. Grimoor":

6. "Tavern Stalker": This is the shortest track, at only 44 seconds.

7. "Grandma's House": This is the first track in awhile to not be especially dark.

8. "Keep the Streets Empty for Me", by Fever Ray: This is another track with lyrics, but not as dark-sounding as "The Wolf". There is perhaps an undercurrent of vague dread, though.

9. "Wolf Attack Suite": Ooh, scary!

10. "Just a Fragment of You", by Anthony Gonzalez from M83 and Brian Reitzell: This one is a song. Probably the lightest track on the album, in terms of mood.

11. "The Reveal": This is the longest track, at 6:08. And it's a somewhat scary one. Much dread.

12. "Finale": A fairly short one, but intense.

13. "End Suite":

14. "Crystal Visions", by The Big Pink: This is the most songlike (and most rocklike) song on the album, though it takes over a minute and a half for the singing to start. It's fairly good. Sort of grungy.
