Santa Baby (various artists)
AllMusic; Amazon; Discogs

This was released via Starbucks in 2006. I listened to it again in 2021 to write a review.

1. "River", by Sarah McLachlan: The other day when I listened to Glee The Christmas Album vol. 2 I said I thought that might be the first time I heard this song. But this is from five years earlier, so maybe this is the first time I heard it. I still don't know. It's still not one of my favorite songs, but I do like this rendition pretty well.

2. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", by Tony Bennett: I also have this song on Bennett's album Snowfall. It's still nice.

3. "Sleigh Ride", by Diana Krall: I'm not really familiar with Krall's work, but I know she's a jazz singer. Anyway, this is a decent rendition of the song.

4. "Here Comes Santa Claus", by Elvis Presley: This is a fun rendition, if you like Elvis.

5. "Little Drummer Boy", by Pink Martini: This is an American band, but I mainly know them for their French song "Sympathique". So it's a little weird for me to hear them singing in English, but I suppose it wouldn't be if I knew much more of their work. I always have to say "this isn't one of my favorite songs", but this is a decent rendition.

6. "L-O-V-E", by Nat King Cole: I'm not really familiar with this song. It's nice enough, but I have no idea what it's doing on a Christmas album.

7. "Santa Baby", by Eartha Kitt: The original and still one of the best renditions ever, even if it sounds much simpler than most versions I've heard.

8. "The Christmas Blues", by Dean Martin: I'm not familiar with this song, but I guess Martin is the first artist to release it. It's not bad, but I don't find it memorable.

9. "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer", by Ella Fitzgerald: There are some unfamiliar lyrics here, but mostly it's the same old song. It's good, but I'm a bit disappointed that Fitzgerald doesn't do any scatting.

10. "The Christmas Song", by Frank Sinatra: It's good, but not one of my favorite renditions.

11. "I'll Be Home for Christmas", by Aimee Mann: As usual, I have nothing better to say than "this is a decent rendition".

12. "White Christmas", by Sonya Kitchell: I'm not familiar with the artist at all, but it's a good rendition.

13. "Christmas Is", by Lou Rawls: I'm not familiar with this song, but I like it. I'm glad to have a copy of it. I'm not sure if this is the original version or not.

14. "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm", by Billie Holiday: Very nice, but it probably wouldn't be my favorite rendition of the song.

15. "I'll Be Seeing You", by Peggy Lee: Not bad, but it wouldn't be my favorite rendition. And I have no idea what it's doing on a Christmas album.

Sorry I don't have much of anything interesting or specific to say about most of these songs. But they're all good. And it's a good variety of artists.
