I originally had a page for "beach party movies" in my comedy section, with room on the page for seven movies that were more or less part of a series. I also had one movie on its own page in the "quirky" section. But then in summer of 2022, I decided to watch a bunch of beach movies for that summer's theme. And I wasn't sure where to put other beach movies that weren't part of the main series. So instead I decided to start this section for "surf & beach movies", and I'll include any movies in which surfing plays a major role, not just "beach party" type movies. But also any movies in which the beach itself is the main thing, whether there's surfing in them or not. The movies can be comedies, dramas, documentaries, or whatever.
