The Lost City of Tomorrow (13:29)

This 2016 short film was presented by Dust in 2017.
The short at first appears to be an old-fashioned, pulpy adventure film, but we soon see that was just a movie (with the same title as this short) that was being watched by someone in an otherwise empty theater. The scene then shifts to another man, Frank Wilhoughby, who does a voiceover about himself and his work: shutting down unused data storage facilities. He's a very cynical man, who doesn't like anyone or much of anything, apparently. His next assignment takes him to a film storage facility in space, where he meets its android caretaker, Vincent (the man who was watching the film we saw earlier). Frank just wants to get on with his job of shutting the facility down, but Vincent gets him to watch a movie with him. Vincent, unlike other androids, seems to be more than he was programmed to be. He is very passionate about movies, unlike Frank. And that's all I want to say about the plot, but I definitely thought it was a good short film.
