This 2024 short film was presented by Alter in 2025.

A single dad named Phil (is he divorced or widowed, I have no idea) lets his teenage stepdaughter, Brooke, go to a bonfire with a friend. Then he falls asleep in front of the TV. Hours later, he wakes up hearing Brooke calling for him to open the door and let her in. But he has reason to believe it's not really her, and he can't see her through the peephole or the mail slot. Soon, whatever's out there starts talking to him in other familiar voices (including his wife, who again, I don't know if she's alive or dead; either way, the situation is creepy). Phil becomes increasingly nervous, and calls Brooke to warn her not to use the front door when she comes home. And... I feel like maybe I've said more than enough already.

It's a very tense and eerie sort of psychological horror short film, and it's well acted. It may well deserve a higher rating than I've given it, and I'm not sure why I don't rate it higher than I did. It's a good concept, and it's well executed. Maybe I'd like it more if it were longer, and I'd probably prefer to get a better answer about what exactly the monster was. But that's just me; I think a lot of viewers would prefer it as it is, without getting a good look at the monster, nor any definitive answers. I'm just not always a "less is more" kind of film viewer.
