This short first screened at a film festival in 2006, before being shown theatrically with Ratatouille the next year. It's available on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of that movie, as well as the Pixar Short Films Collection, volume 1. (The latter is where I first saw the short, in 2022.) The film has no dialogue. It's about a young alien taking a daunting test, trying to abduct a man from his home as he sleeps at night, via tractor beam. I felt kind of bad for the alien, faced with an immense sea of identical switches to control the beam. And the human was an unbelievably sound sleeper (unless the alien or his instructor did something to put the would-be abductee into a much deeper sleep just prior to the start of the short film). Anyway, I don't want to give away any more details of the plot, but I guess it was reasonably amusing, and I liked the animation. Not something I'm likely to find super memorable, though.
