Pluto's Christmas Tree (6:43)

This came out in 1952, and I'm sure I must have seen it when I was a kid in the 80s, but I don't remember it well enough from back then to consider it particularly nostalgic. Still, it's a reasonably fun short, which I watched again on Disney+ in 2023.

Mickey and Pluto go out to cut down a tree to bring home and decorate for Christmas. Chip 'n' Dale see Pluto acting all excited about it, and mock him for it. When he starts chasing them, they hide in the tree that Mickey ends up cutting down. When he gets the tree home and decorates it, the chipmunks make trouble for Pluto, who desperately tries to get Mickey to realize they're there (much like in Mickey and the Seal, and probably any number of other Disney shorts that I don't remember). When Mickey finally does realize it, of course, he thinks the chipmunks are cute and decides to celebrate Christmas with them. There's not really much more to say about it, it's a pretty simple short. But it's reasonably amusing and a fun way to spend 7 minutes around Christmas time.

(Looking back at my review of Mickey and the Seal, I see that I rated that one lower than I did this one. Which seems wrong to me, I probably liked that one more than this one. So I'm not sure whether to raise my rating of that one or lower my rating of this one. But for now I'll just leave everything alone.)
