This came out in 2023. I watched it on Thanksgiving in 2025. And it was... fine. It had some pretty shocking kills, and overall I guess the story was okay. I didn't think it was anything special, but I don't regret watching it.

It starts on Thanksgiving Day in Plymouth, Massachusetts. A mob of people wait impatiently for a store called RightMart to open for its early Black Friday sale. A group of teenagers get let into the store before it opens, which pisses off the crowd outside. Eventually they break down the door and flood into the store, and we see the absolute worst of humanity, as everyone fights over merchandise and several people die, including a woman named Amanda (Gina Gershon). Meanwhile, one of the teenagers films everything that's going on with his phone.

The next year, as another Thanksgiving approaches, people who were involved with the deaths start beging killed off by a slasher wearing a mask of Pilgrim John Carver, which is popular in Plymouth because he was one of the town's founders. The killer also tags the teenagers in online images of his kills. One of the teens, Jessica Wright (the daughter of the owner of RightMart), is now dating a guy named Ryan (Milo Manheim), who the other members of her friend group (Scuba, Evan, Gaby, and Yulia) don't exactly like. The previous year, she had been dating a guy named Bobby, who had been a star quarterback for their school, before his arm was badly injured during the riot at RightMart. Since then, he had left town and deleted his entire social media presence. But now he comes back to town and resumes a friendship with Jessica, and a rivalry with Ryan. Meanwhile, the police, led by Sheriff Eric Newlon (Patrick Dempsey), investigate the ongoing murders.

I don't want to spoil any more details, so there's not much more I can say. There's a local illicit gun dealer named McCarty who plays a role in the events, but I'm not really sure how important he actually is to the story. Anyway, I kind of predicted who the killer would turn out to be, but I was never entirely sure, until the truth was revealed (which I won't spoil, of course). The motivation was kind of tacked-on, I felt, but I didn't really mind much. And I don't really know what else to say.
