ArieScope's 16th Halloween short film, from 2014. (I'm watching it in 2022.) Shawn Ashmore plays a man who has a video call with his wife (Brea Grant) on Halloween. We see his home in the background, but his wife just appears in a black void of some sort, and she doesn't seem as happy to talk to him as he is to talk to her. Eventually we find out why, and it didn't completely surprise me, but it's still a very effective and disturbing twist.
