This is a Norwegian film released in 2010 (2011 in the U.S.), but I didn't see it until 2018 (the night before Halloween). It's a found footage movie about a trio of college students who are filming a documentary about an alleged bear poacher called Hans. The primary member of the group is Thomas, the cameraman (whom we rarely see, but sometimes hear making comments) is Kalle, and the sound engineer is Johanna. At first, Hans makes it very clear that he wants the student filmmakers to leave him alone. But they persist in following him. One night, they follow him into the woods, and learn that he's actually hunting a troll. They still don't actually see the troll, but Thomas does get bitten by something. Hans gives them a ride back to where they'd left their car, which turns out to have been crushed. After that, he finally agrees to let them come with him on his hunts, and tells them everything. There are different kinds of trolls, which have their own territories. Hans works for a secret government agency, and his job is to kill any trolls that wander outside those territories. This has been happening more than usual, recently, and he needs to find out why.

Well, eventually the students do see an actual troll, and it's pretty big, though not the biggest they will see in the movie. Hans uses UV lights to kill trolls, which either turn to stone or explode. They'll see several more different kinds of trolls, of different sizes. (All of them are bigger than humans, but there was one type I don't know if I'd call "giant.") The last one they see is a truly huge type called a Jotnar (which is the one you can see in posters for the movie).

Anyway, I'm leaving out some important details, and a couple of important characters. I don't want to say how it all ends. But it was a fairly enjoyable movie, and I thought the trolls all looked pretty cool. And I don't know what else to say.
