This is the third and final installment of the How to Train Your Dragon movie series, following HTTYD 2. I think I loved it the least of all three movies, but I still loved it. And I wanted to mention that the DVD includes two unrelated short films, Bilby and Bird Karma.

It's set one year after the second movie. At the start of the film, Hiccup and his friends are freeing some dragons that had been trapped by another clan of Vikings, and bring them back to Berk, which by now has almost more dragons than it can handle. They've been doing this for some time now, and the dragon trappers are getting closer to finding Berk. The trappers get help from a dragon hunter named Grimmel (F. Murray Abraham), who has killed almost all the Night Furies in the world (aside from Toothless). Grimmel will let the trappers take all the dragons they can steal from the Berkians, but he himself just wants to capture Toothless. As bait, he uses a white, female dragon of the same species that he had already captured. When Toothless first sees her, he immediately falls in love, though it takes some time for the female to reciprocate his feelings. Hiccup and Astrid take to calling her a "Light Fury". Meanwhile, Gobber thinks it's time for Hiccup and Astrid to get married, but they're not ready yet.

When Grimmel finds Berk, Hiccup, who is now chieftain of the Berkians, decides it's time for them to move somewhere they and the dragons can't be found. He remembers a legend his father had told him when he was little, about a hidden world where all the dragons in the world came from. Hiccup decides to look for that place, but meanwhile the Berkians relocate to a new island. The movie has a number of battles between the two groups of Vikings. Hiccup and Astrid do eventually find the hidden world, but realize humans don't belong there, so they'll stay on the island, called New Berk. And... that's all I want to say about the plot, but it's all pretty cool.
