St. Patrick's Day 2003

Okay, actually as I write this it is February 2004, and I'm redoing my St. Pat's page, adding some more pages to it and whatnot. And now I'm going to move some of the old stuff that made up the main page last year to this new page, because I didn't decide to start doing holiday journals until last Halloween, and now I'm copying my Halloween page(s) for St. Patrick's Day, got it? Good. Although some stuff has been left, in altered form, on the main page, some has been moved to other pages, and some stuff is just plain gone. So, here are some selected bits of last year:

Greetings, kids! Welcome to my little page for St. Patrick's Day, which is one of my favorite holidays. Well, it's in the top 5, anyway. I do have some Irish blood in me, and of all the types of blood I have, Irish is my favorite. Although technically it's all... well, I was gonna say what actual type it is, but... I don't actually know my blood type, darn the luck!

Ah yes, the luck of the Irish. You might think we're pretty lucky, what with the 4-leaf clovers and leprechauns, and all. But actually we're not that lucky. Okay, I'm an American, and my ancestry is only like a quarter or less Irish, but still. It is, as I've said, my favorite part. And I'm not very lucky. Maybe not as unlucky as some, though. But listen to this, I was typing up this page online, when my browser crashed! I tried to save my work, but I failed! So I had to start over! And I was liking how it was going, and now I can't remember it right! How unlucky is that?!!

...

So, what's left to talk about? I have a shamrock plant named Lenny. It doesn't look like clovers, but just go try and find any mention of shamrocks that don't look like clovers! Go ahead, try! I dare you! If you find a good site, please let me know. My shamrock plant, the stems have 3 leaves, but they're bigger and more triangular than clover leaves. While you're at it, try to find something out about woodsorrel. That stuff looks more like clovers than shamrock. The three leaves are similar to clover leaves, except more heart-shaped. And you can eat them, if you don't mind how sour they are. Or maybe it's bitter, I always mix up those two tastes. Anyway, I suppose if you ate a clover or shamrock it wouldn't kill you or anything, but I definitely know you can eat woodsorrel. Anyway, all three plants are green and look Irish enough, so whatever.

What else to say? I keep asking that, don't I? Hmmm... There are plenty of good actors and writers from Ireland. And stuff like that. My powers of concentration are really starting to lag, I've been working on this page for it seems maybe a few hours. It doesn't look like it, does it? Just trust me. Because I'm kind of sure about that vague figure. Anyway, I don't know what else to say or do. And my wrists hurt. Maybe it's top 3, kind of not sure where to put Christmas. Halloween comes first, which by the way is partly based on the Celtic holiday Samhain. Fourth of July is probably second. Is St. Patrick's Day third? I don't know. It doesn't really depress me like Christmas can. Heh, every day of the year can depress me, though. Now I'm just rambling, aren't I? Hey, remember how Cheers and Gary's Olde Towne Tavern used to always compete on St. Patrick's Day? Ah, those were the days. But Julie says Cheers isn't on anymore. ...Oh, wait, I'm confusing myself with the Maxx. Weird. Seriously, I can tell my mind is really gone now, I need a break. Maybe I'll work more on this page later. Or not. You don't really want me to, anyway, do you? You haven't even read this far, I bet. Well, happy St. Patty's Day, anyway. Later days. (Oh damn, don't tell me I'm confusing myself with Tino Tonitini, now....)

...

2004 again. I just wanted to add that last year I tried some Carolans Irish Cream (which I also mentioned on the drinks page) and had a Shamrock Shake at Mickey D's, along with fries and a Cajun fish sandwich (which I've decided not to mention on the drinks page, even though I'll still mention shamrock shakes in general, there). Um, and I can't think of anything else to say about last year, and I don't seem to have any of the page left to move here, so... See you next year, okay? I mean... this year... whatever.
