Independence Day 2015

July 4
This morning I went to the Brigade Lodge with mom for the annual Fourth of July breakfast of Swedish pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, and cream, plus ham and beans. I don't always go, mainly because I hate crowds. But I decided to this year. And it was okay. Lunch will be at the lake this afternoon. Oh... I should say the weather is nice. There hasn't been a lot of really hot weather yet this summer (and in fact most of the warmest days actually happened in late spring). But at least there's no rain, and I do think it's going to be a warm day.

So... the day wasn't as consistently warm as I expected, but it was never really cold. Anyway... I had some food and talked with cousins, so that was nice. Then I spent several hours waiting for it to be dark enough for fireworks. Read a couple chapters of A Tale of Two Cities. Tried and failed to nap. And finally watched fireworks, which was very nice, then came home from the lake. Now is time for some beer from a Sam Adams summer mixpack. And I reckon that's about all I've got to say about the holiday. It was a decent day.
