October 1
I started off the day with a bowl of Pumpkin Pie Spice Frosted Mini Wheats. I didn't start the box today, in fact I'm near the end of it. But I do think that was an apt way to start spooky month. And after my shower, I put on my Jack-o-Lantern t-shirt, which I expect to be part of my rotation of t-shirts throughout the month. (Though I have a new t-shirt to wear on Halloween itself.) Later in the day, I watched the first episode of a Netflix series from 2021 called "Scaredy Cats", which is obviously for kids, but it's not too bad. I'm still not sure if I'll watch the whole series (it's only 9 episodes), but I might. The last episode will be set on Halloween, I believe, and the whole thing is about witches and magic. So it's appropriate for this month.
Oct. 3
I watched the first episode of the 2022 Netflix series Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. It was okay, but I do hope I like some of the other episodes more than this one. Later, I watched the 2019 film Ready or Not, which was really good.
Oct. 4
I watched Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster.
Oct. 5
I watched the first episode of the 2019 series "Los Espookys". So far I'm finding it fairly amusing, but it hasn't gotten really spooky yet, and I'm not sure if it will or not, in future episodes. We'll see. Then I watched the second episode of "Scaredy Cats".
Oct. 7
I watched Sometimes They Come Back.
Oct. 9
I watched another episode of "Cabinet of Curiosities", which I liked better than the first one. Then I watched The Monkey, which was weird as heck.
Oct. 10
I watched an episode of "Scaredy Cats".
Oct. 11
I started a page for Halloween decor. For now it's just things I already had pics of in my Halloween section, stuff I've put in my annual journals. But I intend to take pictures of some other things I've had for years. Later, I watched the first episode of the 2018 series "The Haunting of Hill House".
Oct. 12
I watched this year's Halloween special by Broken Peach, which is Enter Sandman (with a bit of "Psycho Killer" thrown in). It was pretty decent, but I'm not sure if I want to add it to my Halloween videos playlist or not. Then I watched "Cabinet of Curiosities". The episode was gross AF, but fascinating. And I watched the 1979 film Dracula.
Oct. 13
Took some more pics of old stuff for my decor page. Later, I watched the 1953 movie House of Wax.
Oct. 14
Added a new Butterfinger commercial to my Halloween commercials playlist. Later, I watched an episode of "Wednesday" season 2 (so now I'm halfway through the season), and an episode of "The Haunting of Hill House".
Oct. 15
Watched the first episode of the new series "Vampirina: Teenage Vampire", which isn't spooky at all, but it is sort of supernatural, at least. It's completely ridiculous, but it could be sort of okay. I'll probably try watching some more of the series before I decide if I like it or not. I watched the second episode of "Los Espookys", and I don't care that it's not actually spooky, it's just so funny. Also, I added a Fanta commercial to my playlist. And watched an episode of "Cabinet of Curiosities". Later, I watched The Wolf Man.
Oct. 16
Watched "Scaredy Cats". And "The Haunting of Hill House".
Oct. 17
The Headless Horseman Hallmark ornament I ordered arrived today. Later, I watched an episode of "Cabinet of Curiosities". And I started watching a movie, but after a little while decided it wasn't for me, so I quit. And I never managed to figure out what to watch instead.
Oct. 19
I watched "Hill House". Later, I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose, which is only partly a "scary" movie. Mostly I see it as a courtroom drama, but I think it's worth mentioning here.
Oct. 20
The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror XXXVI aired last night, and I watched it today on Hulu. I mostly thought it was pretty good. Then I watched another episode of "Cabinet of Curiosities", and one of the three main actresses from "Scaredy Cats" was in it. And then I watched The Final Destination (the fourth movie in the franchise, but not the final one).
Oct. 21
My sister bought me a bag of Reese's peanut butter pumpkins and a bag of vampire-shaped KitKats. I watched "Scaredy Cats", and things are getting a bit more Halloween-ish on the show. (There was pumpkin bowling.)
