This is a trailer I made for "Siege of the North," the first season finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was completed in early August 2006, though I reckon most of the work was probably done in July. I used the audio from the trailer for the movie Serenity. (Thanks to my friend Ellen, who sent me a mini CD-R with the Serenity trailer that she burned for me.) Most of the video clips are from "Siege of the North," though there are a few bits from like one or two other episodes. I think before I decided I was finished, I had probably two or three different versions of the vid that I was having trouble choosing between. (But that's surely true of at least a few of my fanvids, and I'm not 100% sure this was one of them.) Anyway, as far as I can recall, the differences were very subtle, mostly a matter of timing. Trying to make sure the audio synced as closely as possible with the video. Of course it can never be perfect, but I'm fairly happy with the result. Oh, and there are a few title cards early on (0:27-0:37) that are a direct spoof of such cards from the actual Serenity trailer.
I think the one thing that bugs me most is the credits card at the very end mention the YouTube account I was using at the time, which was later purged, so... this is a permanent reminder of that. But whatevs. I still think it's a pretty fun video, if you're a fan of both Avatar and Serenity.
Oh, and in case you're wondering about music in the trailer, it's "Club Foot" by Kasabian and "Skylight" by Overseer. Of course these are not choices I made, because I'm obviously not the one who made Serenity's trailer. But I do think they're pretty great pieces of music, so I might as well mention them.
